A beautiful mid-19th century chest of drawers featuring stunning flame mahogany veneer across the drawer fronts. The grain has that unmistakable movement and depth — rich, swirling, and bookmatched to create a symmetrical pattern that feels both dramatic and refined.
This piece offers two smaller drawers over three larger graduating drawers, all fitted with turned wood knobs and original keyholes (keys not included). The drawers are constructed with hand-cut dovetail joinery, showcasing the craftsmanship of the era. The top has gently rounded front corners and the chest stands on classic turned feet, giving it a graceful silhouette.
The patina is warm and layered — the kind that only develops over 150+ years. Subtle wear, surface marks, and age-related character are present throughout, adding to its authenticity and charm. The interior of the drawers shows honest wear consistent with age and use. The interior of the drawers have the original drawer paper liner.
