Warm antique pine with beautifully timeworn patina, this French bookcase dates to the late 19th century, Circa 1880. The tall, glazed upper cabinet offers a light, architectural presence, while the enclosed base provides generous concealed storage—an ideal blend of display and function.
The piece has undergone thoughtful structural restoration: the back has been rebuilt, and the interior saw-tooth shelf supports have been replaced, allowing the shelves to be fully removable and adjustable to glasses, ceramics, or collections. Two glass panels have been replaced (upper left door panel and lower right panel), while the remaining glass appears original, preserving the character of the piece.
Original locks remain in place on both the upper and lower sections; however, no keys are present. The cabinet is one piece.
Each antique and vintage item is unique, showcasing distinctive characteristics such as patina, knots, cracks, small chips, and wear consistent with age and use. Each piece is sold as-is and final sale.
